The SF Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII) is a local government agency serving as the successor to the former San Francisco Redevelopment Agency. OCII is responsible for managing the development of several areas and neighborhoods in the City of San Francisco. OCII has a database workflow application that manages its contract activity and documentation processes.
When DTI began working with OCII, the OCII database infrastructure consisted of about a dozen interconnected Microsoft Access databases of various versions which were being utilized, and dozens of other “orphaned” databases which were duplicates of existing databases, as well as others which were no longer in use. OCII was also experiencing recurring problems with system bugs, malfunctioning database reports, and they identified the need for enhanced reporting services and capabilities.
Numerous database reports and forms enhancements; database and workflow system bug fixes; successful migration of back-end data to the Microsoft SQL Server platform providing more system stability, reporting capability, management, and security. Additional improvements Diamond Technology implemented on this project include…
Ability to create centralized access to reports
Ability to perform cross-database reporting
Prevention of previous locking and data consistency issues.
Prevention of previous corruption of MS Access database backend data.
Centralized management of all MS Access database data in MS SQL Server, including backups.
